On the second and the third installment of the TRUST TRILOGY, Sophia Leibowitz and Ethan Ashford discuss children and women abuse, especially in India and China. Why have I spoken of such a touchy subject in a romance?
Because things are escalating to such a proportion that even the powerful Indian Goddesses whom are worshipped, will, in the end, going to be abused too.
Sixty-eight percent (yes, 68%) of women in India are victims of domestic violence.
Last year 224,270 crimes against women were reported, unfortunately these numbers are underreported. It’s said that 100 million Indians, largely women and girls – sometimes little boys – are trafficked.
Incredible, we’re in the 21st century and there are women who still think they’re men’s or families’ properties.
Ad Agency Taproot created the campaign “Abused Goddesses”, physically recreating scenes from old hand-painted images of Indian goddesses all hurt.
Each beautifully made ad includes a phone number to report abuse, their number is 022-2652 0601 (or 0602).
An amazing initiative. Congratulations to those who did those ads and help this cause.
My best, Cristiane Serruya.
