Luxury hotels in London

Sophia Leibowitz, the heroine of the TRUST TRILOGY, is a Brazilian lawyer that after suffering a tragic accident moved to London trying to reconstruct her life.

Actually, London is one of the most visited cities in the world. It’s the capital and the most important town in the United Kingdom and hosted tourists with open arms. After I told Sophia about my plans of writing tips about tourism in London, she advised me to start talking about good hotels.

You know… she is very, very rich, right? So, it was not a surprise when I received a list with a lot (oh, yeah, a lot of!) of five star hotels. Of course, I have asked her to refer some that could be very nice and cheaper too, for those of us that enjoy traveling without expending much on an accommodation.

For the start, I’m going to share a few of them with you and indicate some scrumptious restaurants and tea rooms in them.

The Athenaeum 116 Piccadilly, Mayfair, London W1J 7BJ © 2013 (http://www.athenaeumhotel.com)

The Athenaeum can be called your luxury home away from home. Everything’s set up so that your little ones can sleep well, eat well and have a really wonderful time. Sophia loves it so much because it’s such a family friendly hotel that it even have a dedicated Kids’ Concierge to make sure everything you and your kids need are realized. Also they have a team of fabulous nannies to take care of them.

It’s one of those exquisite things in life that you simply have to do.

There’s an amazing choice of family rooms for cots, adjoining bedrooms and suites. And our luxury family apartments give you a kitchen, dining area and separate sitting room… oodles of space!

Afternoon Tea in Mayfair…dainty and decadent delicacies… leaf tea in china teacups… pink champagne or Kir Royale… the perfect way to spend the afternoon chatting and relaxing!

The curtains can be closed for a more… hmmm. private conversation, as Sophia and Alistair had that afternoon.

The Athenaeum were voted best Afternoon Tea in London for 2012 by the Tea Guild. And also their sumptuous afternoon tea scooped the Tea Guild’s prestigious award for “Top London Afternoon Tea 2012″. It’s considered the ‘Oscars’ of the tea world.

The winning teas include the: • Evergreen Tea £29.50 • Evergreen Tea with a Glass of Rose Petal Champagne £36.50 • Evergreen Tea with a Glass of Laurent Perrier Rosé £43.00

And there is, of course, Sophia’s favorite tea menu, The famous ‘Regent’s Park Honey Tea’, which is exceedingly popular, it’s £39 per-person and includes a glass of Honey Fizz. I recommend that is your are not Sophia you book it 24 hours in advance.

Sophia consels that you make reservation to the Athenaeum EXCLUSIVE ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND AFTERNOON TEA EXPERIENCE from weekends from 22 June to 31 August 2013. In association with Ian Pelham-Turner and Helena Chard, Royal Photographers, and Royal Life magazine they are proud to host “The Royal Child” exhibition; the most genuine Royal experience, specializing in Royal children, outside Royal Palaces this summer. The event will run at weekends from 22nd June – 31st August, at 1.30pm – 3.00pm and 4.00pm -5.30pm. Reservations for the exhibition and afternoon tea cost £60 per person.

Including an exhibition is a photograph of HM The Queen making sandcastles when she was just 3 or 4 years old. The photograph turned up as a postcard in an antique bookshop in London and is believed not to be part of the Royal collection. The Royal Photographers will talk of their quest to uncover the history behind this image and how this seemingly private occasion became a postcard.

It’s a rare opportunity to view over 50 images whilst the photographer Ian and Helena provide fascinating insights into how Royal children have been brought up since Victorian times, and how the new Royal baby may be treated.

This exclusive event will take place over afternoon tea served in the Athenaeum’s Hyde Park room. The afternoon tea has been created by the same team who were awarded ‘Top London Afternoon Tea 2012.
